Research activities: Nano-chemistry and nano-mineralogy; Structures of clay minerals; Thermal reactions of clay minerals; Organo-clay interactions, organo-clay complexes and the study of their fine structure by infrared and visible spectroscopy; Thermal-analysis and thermal reactions of organo-clay complexes; The formation of intercalated charcoal-clay complexes; The use of organo-clay complexes in the purification of waste water; Mechanochemical adsorption of organic compounds by clay minerals; Surface acidity of clay minerals; Wettability of clay minerals; Various topics in surface and colloid properties of clay minerals; Synthesis of organo-clay pigments; Synthesis of double halide salts by mechanochemical techniques. 

 

Principal methods of research: IR- and visible-spectroscopy; Thermo-IR and thermo-visible-spectroscopy; X-ray diffraction and thermo-XRD; TG, DTA, EGA and DSC.
